The absurd humour of the game had a nice charm, then it got all pretentious and "philosophical" about how "Games Don't Have Real Choices Bc Code and Blah Blah Blah"
like of course not? That's the point of a game. It's more interactive than a story from a TV show or a book, but ultimately the limits of it are created by the people who made it. Not exactly a Deep Philosophical Take there bud.
The narration is funny and it's an interesting story, but this is hardly a game. Your choices are proceed or die, or they change nothing about how the story progresses. It's pretty much a digital picture book.
Sensitivity for clicking objects was wonky, direction wasn't clear; when your hitboxes are off and you have multiple minigames where I have to rely on them, the game stops being fun and gets so frustrating everything else fades to the background. The explanation for the creatures' appearance was thrown in at the last second, it would have been better to leave it ambiguous in my opinion.
The voice acting was well done though. When it wasn't overlapping. Not all of it was captioned either.
I would have liked to have more control over the ending, without spoiling anything there were some instances where I would have really liked to have been given a choice.
