Love the Visitor, in all its incarnations. Would have to say that my biggest gripe is that there aren't multiple solutions to puzzles - but, then again, that's been my only, meager, gripe with every Visitor game. Keep em' coming!
Not entirely sure how some of the shrapnel works - nothing quite like losing a 50k helicopter on its first mission because a piece of building was launched into the air.
What the crap just happened? That was just weird for the sake of weird.
Also, loss of points for misuse of a contraction. You said "you're" in the ending, when I'm pretty sure you meant "your". It's a shame to have such a well-conceived world and yet, no spell checking.
My only complaint is that there wasn't more of it. It felt like just as soon as I was completely hooked and getting good at keeping a cell alive in a hostile environment - it was over. I wanted to have the box fall into a medical waste dumpster, or a dirty refrigerator, or a volcano, or a McDonald's bathroom, you know, safe places for living organisms - I wanted more challenges, more viruses, more GAME.
A clever concept, and though the initial combinations were well-thought out and interesting, some of the later ones (or lack thereof) were a bit far-fetched and seemingly rushed (production-wise). I'd love to see a sequel, or some progression of the concept. All reservations aside, I had a blast playing this one, and wish there was even more to do.
Had there actually been a game here to go along with the commentary, like 'Achievement Unlocked', this may have been something. At present... there's not much.
Once I discovered that battles could be won in under a minute with the right spells beefed up - this game lost a little respect with me. Though I still enjoyed pounding through the later levels with ease and seeing what weird monsters and maps lay ahead. A solid time waster.
I'm pretty sure I'll be holding every game that comes out from here to eternity to the 'Miami Shark' standard of fun. It seems like a solid enough benchmark.
Clever. Very clever. It's nice to see games that completely take me by surprise - and then are lots of fun to boot. I hope there's a sequel in the future.
Well executed formulaic gameplay is still formulaic gameplay. ...kill the monster, take the loot, sell the loot, buy new loot, repeat...
Not enough dragon-goodness.
After about two hours of off and on play I beat this one, without really, ANY trouble. Now, I should mention that it was a LOT of fun to do. Along those lines, I feel that a sequel is in order, built on the same system but perhaps a deeper combat system and a higher difficulty curve. After all, it isn't too hard to amass a gigantic fortune in this game in relatively no time at all.
A slick execution on a concept that I feel like I've seen a thousand times before. It has its glaring flaws, such as lacking AI, the necessity of player intervention to correct bad AI, and the frustration of dealing with miners, but still I keep playing it... so it clearly works more often than it doesn't.
