It doesn't load at the moment because the sponsor shut down some servers necessary for the loader, I'm sorry. I'll update the game soon with a new preloader.
@ctsg: great number of shots you got :) - you know, I tried to make the last hole technically be playable with two shots... (after releasing the chain using one nearly straight upwards shot from the ground) - but I never managed to do it... maybe you're able to? (I just left this possibility in because I knew for sure that there are enough players out there that can do the game by far better...)
ABOUT FIRE AT FULL POWER: I tried a version where the power always goes high, then low, then high again - and it shot when you released the mouse. But the problem was, that flash doesn't realize when you release the mouse if your cursor is OUTSIDE the flashgame. So all the testers had a lot of shots that weren't shot when they wanted. That made them really angry. So I had to go with "shoot at full power" again. Now flash still doesn't notice when you release the mouse outside the flashgame, but noone notices, because the ball is fired so soon at full power ;)
you're all right, the game is a little short... it took like forever to do all the holes and if I had done more holes it would have taken like another year or so to release it... but I didn't want to develop the game THAT long ;)
@wallo congrats on that :) - you've all reached scores I can't come up with anymore... even though I've played the game like a million times while developing ;)
@conkedup: you're right, the game is a little short... it took so long to do the courses till I found they were "perfect" that it would have taken another half year to produce some more... and I did want the game to be released somewhen ;)
Glad you had fun playing and maybe there will be a sequel somewhen with even more courses and a more exciting story...
@brak: you're right that normally casualgames shouldn't need much processing power - but I tried to do a game that plays casual, even if it is more an actiongame from the overall experience. And I wanted to polish the game with smooth animations + solid physics.
Actually I did a lot of testing, the beta phase with 50some close friends took more than a month. I also tested the game on slower machined and didn't get framedrops (I tried to make the courses as small as possible to boost performance a bit).
As it looks now, it's only the version at kongregate that freezes sometimes... the viral version of this games comes without Kong API of course, so the problem must be somewhere at my Kong API integration...
If anybody else had the game freezed while playing, please drop me a note! I want to narrow down the problem to fix it asap!
I just heared about some framerate problems while playing. Those didn't occure at any of the test sessions I've done before, so I'd like to ask wheter the game runs ok for you?
Unfortunately it needs a more powerful pc than many other flashgames, because of using physics and the graphics being all vectors (all but the dialogue character images)... but you still should be able to play the game...
Thanks for your great feedback :). I also report your ingame achievements to Kongregate, so hopefully, if the game gets played a lot and will be rated well, there will be badges for it soon :)
I've just published the game and hope you like it :)
If there are any problems, bugs, or whatever, please tell me.
Looking forward to get your feedback :)
I like it, it's defininately fun, just one suggestion:
I dislike when games talk too technical, like saying "total damage is calculated"... and I really apprechiate it when a game puts technical things like this in a convincing setting.
So in your game this could be: Setting is a toy-store, you destroy everything, and at the end there is no message "[...] calculating[...]" but a little animation of the shop owner with a calculator or at the cash register saying "that'll be expencive, let's see what your mum has to pay" (background shows crying mum)...
Just a random example - but it would leave the player more "in" the game than saying "there is some technical stuff going on with the physics so please wait till all the forces came to rest"... ;)
