I don't usually go for this type of game, most of the ones I've tried to play get repetitive very quickly. But this game has a few little improvements that greatly increase its playability. First, the simple fact that there are two sides means a somewhat different play style than the top-down ones, plus the ability to make a dramatic comeback after almost losing is nice. And you can root for one side or the other, which adds a nice bit of emotion to the game. Second, they shoot at each other! So much cooler than any powerup you could give. Even the little design aspects work well--the fact that the top corners of the play area are angled to prevent boring bounce-back, and the fact that if the balls get stuck, they both increase in damage and in speed. Overall, very well done! Plus the ending is cute.
This is actually really good, thematically as well as with gameplay. I was imagining as I was playing that it was a "gamified" story of Alzheimer's progression, based on the static theme and the stage titles, plus the mechanic of wanting to stop or slow down time, but not necessarily being able to. Then came to the comments and saw your explanation. The last level and end scene definitely had me self-reflecting much more than I was expecting from a flash game. Well done, and if you're considering scaling it up to a more full game and making the allegory more explicit, I would strongly encourage you to do so.
found a minor bug: it's possible to get stuck at the last corner pipe just before "XXL meowing." Fantastic game overall, would be excited to play the full version.
Good game, although I found it a bit too easy. Finished the story mode demo on the second try with just 40 points worth of upgrades. I might suggest reducing the number of free birds.
