(Part 2, continued from previous comment)
I feel the art for your new characters may be improved with close attention to the size of each part of them and how large they tend to be on other characters, notably your characters have rather big heads and that kind of stuff looks really out of place when next to the established Touhou characters with smaller heads,
also it would be a good idea to have some variation in their poses, their forwards facing, arms down, nothing of special note poses tend to blend together a bit, with an exception of the Bombs Salesman,
also a quick suggestion that a little bit of shading can make otherwise mediocre art look really nice fast.
With these notes aside, this is very impressive use of the tool at your disposal, a few of the spellcards are very nice, and I'd be very interested in seeing what can be made in the future.
Thank you for playing my fangame and thank you for your comment! Also thank you for your suggestions! This was the first time I tried drawing characters, backrounds and composing the music for a game. I want to become better in this! I am learning how to make games with unity so there's where I'll go next. Before that, I am working on another touhou fangame (the last I'll make on scratch). I wanted to make this game possible for everyone that's why it has so many bombs and you can't really get a game over screen. Each hit is being counted and just decreases your bonus score at the end so people who got hit a lot will get a lower final score.
I played through Normal, got a score of 22,881,300.
From what I've seen this is an especially interesting game for something made in Scratch, it seems to be close to the limits of what can be done in this system and it may be worth it to learn to use another that's more robust.
A few minor issues I've found;
when getting hit, the lack of invincibility frames means the player can get hit multiple times in a row feels terrible and makes some attacks far more dangerous than it seems they should be,
you hand out far more bombs than other Touhou games I've seen which is an issue as it lets the player bomb their way through every mildly difficult situation, effectively skipping content while staying in relative safety, (Part 1, continued in next comment)
"Out of memory. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating more memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings."
That pops up after the unity screen, then the game is replaced by a white screen. I am on google chrome, I tried using firefox but it didn't have my save. I did not back up my save.
Please help.
This game has a nice concept, but lacks content. As GuesssWho said, you could use an upgrade system. However this is not the only approach. This game definately lacks things to do and key features such as sound, a use for souls and perhaps a way to regenerate heath.
But is this not what development builds and other early access systems are for?
I played normally for a bit, until I hit the reset button.
I then ignored biology by having two queens, took over the world with 200 warriors, had so many layers that my bee hive was higher then most sky scrapers and was getting 2 or 3 levels each time the cells were filled.
This was probably due to, when reseting, queens, warriors and upgrades are kept.
It seems you put a lot of effort into this game. However I found that firing endless pachinko balls was the most effective way to play, it takes ages to get to a new stage, there is no tutorial, and sadly pachinko isn't a popular genre of games.
Badges people thought of (not me)
Obtained unobtainium: mine unobtainium
Eternium is no more: mine eternium
Absolutely too addicting: play for 3 hours without stopping
These are not real badges, just ideas for ones
