ok this game is cool but having to read a dialogue font 5 when characters are moving around to no use is simply annoying to say the least. Puzzles are ok, character animation is awesome but wanting to read the dialogues but getting dizzy after doing so is too much for me. I leave this game for now.
This game is fairly easy once you figure out its mechanics: with your magic target only the foes carrying bombs/ aka the ones that destroy the wall, let the rest wander around as they won't be able to go up. If you have archers and the 'regenerate wall when golem dies' upgrade, just killing bomb enemies will render you to the end level without a sweat : )
nice game/graphics/story... but battle system and randomness makes it really frustrating. Too much of an emphasis is put to 'getting lucky colors matching armor'. Not even with manipulator class things get any easier. It's actually hilarious (i wished i could post some screenshots here) when you see monsters with 5 bi-color armors each and then you check ur grid to find useless armor/health (random blue/grey) on your screen and no way to run combo. It's a real pity, i wanted to like this game so badly just for the awesome music score which reminds me of the dark knight. I think i quit with no plans to come back.
You have great talent, SpikeValentine. I was wondering if you were into any other professional work/merchandise I'd love to check them out. I was deeply impressed by your artwork and the music (did you do it all by yourself? amazing). I stalked you back to your new grounds account and even downloaded the tracks. I honestly think you should find a sponsor and develop games. Keep up the good work Spike!
Holabird, thank you for your appreciation. Other things? Yeah, I guess. "did you do it all by yourself? " Yes maam. Thank you for he encouraging words!!!
I think the game lacks a 'motive', a reason to keep going through the levels which get harder and harder and there is no immediate satisfaction for the player because 'he dies' too much.
So, how about putting some fancy flashbacks in between levels telling the story behind? i've played 4 levels expecting a reason to keep on running around for a reason but there was no clue. Back in the 80's people there was mario and simple platformers worked. But since then games have developed into more complex and either try to innovate or are turning into 'movie experience' based video games.
Not sure if i'm right, just my humble opinion. Game is great, specially music I find it totally awesome but something seems to keep missing to me. Maybe it's the 'leitmotif' I'm talking about.
lol almost didn't make it until i realized most of the game is played in 'puzzle' mode and not running around without purpose lol.
Anyway, 4.9/5 basically because I can't see to understand the concept of the game. The puzzle concept is great, but the idea of why you find the heart and who the shadow is is somehow.. loose. Some animations to explain this plus the already staten 'can't find which is the new map, can't tell where my buddy is' issues. Great work lad, keep it up!
I liked the story part.. but the item testing bit is just.. dissapointing. How is throwing a tart into a zombies face gonna do any research?
-Sargeant, where are all the weps, we nned to fight the zombies above!
-Easy soldier, we can't have them, the scienctist needs them more than us, let him have them. We shall fight zombies bare handed. THIS IS SPARTAAA!!!!
Not really logical right?
I second the idea of survival.
These is a very neat scenario, add some music/sounds and you have a very accomplished scenario. Could be an visual/adventure game like good old Riven, with wild animals where observation mattered most.
I think making an action game out of it would definitely kill it. Gotta make us of this awesome atmosphere you just created!
The game is so good I played it twice to master game tactics! 5/5
Greatest achievement is the creation of this atmosphere (ambient sound and graphics) and a nice smart game strategy. However, that could be more deep meaning more character development as well as unit improvement. I kinda missed a story too.. in game dialogue would be cool. The beginning reminded me of ff7 avalanche entering midgard
Okay so I got SSS. To get SSS you need to get the extra 5th char, which is only available after losing the king's league twice, then the 5th talent appears in Town.
Very great game 5/5. My only feedback is that it doesn't really allow deep strategy. Basically getting all unique chars and leveling after leveling does the trick. It would have been nice if the game were harder each time you lose the king's tournament for instance.
Great game! keep it up : )
If i'm understanding this game... it's a try and fail. Everytime you glimpse a dinosaur it means one is nearby, so: you need to grab some meat (hand, leg) and throw it at an intersection so that after he sees you he encounters the meat and won't go after you.
Problem is.. this is way too scary and the laberynth is huge!!! scary scary...
Aw! the game was amasing, but I have been building up my character because I was expecting a boss after the portal, just like all rpg! what a let down! however, great game, nice story, a little fog would definitely create more of a silent hill atmosphere and some more ambient sound. But congrats for a job well done! 5/5 keep it up!!
