New level, new monsters, the goblin guards are not moving, have to figure out why, but they still shoot at you. Will figure it out soon, and have them mobile, and chasing the character.
I'm playing around with the player's walk animation right now, so he doesn't bob when you walk, will be fixed shortly, other than that, the game mechanics should work fine.
Even though Nephilim is my new baby for development now, I can't blow this game off. I am going to make it so at first it's really difficult, but if you hang in there, you upgrade and get some gun turrets, then another upgrade to a new ship at some point, then fight with boss at the end of level.
I want to add some flying to, like the character maybe has to get on a giant flying bug to go to different levels of the dungeon, or some craziness. Love flying. Gotta have it.
I made some adjustments to the game to make it more user friendly. You can shoot just about down at your feet, the spiders behave differently, they have a shorter chase range so they will stop at a certain distance, the smaller ones anyway, and if they do get up on you, you can now shoot almost straight down. Fireburst arrows now do area damage so you can kill multiple spiders with one single Fireburst.
once again, I really like the controls, I think they're some of the best archery controls I've ever used, so I'm disregarding all comments critiquing controls. you can't make everyone happy, and I very much like them.
what exactly is the part people are having trouble with? I think the controls work really well, lol...when I push w, the character walks forward, when push s, he moves back, when I push a and d he rotates left and right, when I push space, the arrows fire, no problems there, and I even am able to rotate the site up and down, so I don't have to move forward and backward to change shoot different distances. The regualar arrows default if I run out of mana or magic arrows, so I don't even have to click to change back, very convenient in my opinion, no problems, because let me tell you, if I thought for a second it wasn't working, I would change it. So, I'm going to disregard any comments on the controls, I think you need more practice fighting giant spiders and demons with a bow, lol.
I made the demon at the end ridiculously hard for now, good luck beating him. If you do, you are a hardcore gamer, lol. Anywho, I will put in a little cache before you reach him soon. My games are more playable skeletons of what I imagine in my mind if I had money, time and a huge studio of artists, and programmers.
I'm going to try to hook up joystick controls soon, maybe that will be better for some people.
