@misterejb... go to to your flashplayer file, cut it and paste it somewhere else, then erase the file called "Macromedia", uninstall windows live messenger if you have it, then restart you computer and load the game. It worked for me, according to some microsft web pages, flash player some times saves some information about games that avoid them to reload from the begining. The windows live messenger thing if for other technical reason (sorry for my english i'm from chile).
toxic, refresh your internet ip, create another kongregate account, refer to the game from your main account, get to level 5, close iexplorer, log in with your main account, play the game, now you have 5 more gems. You can do this several times, i did it 6 times in 2 hours, got 30 gems and i bought the white dragon as my ally.
