If you hide in Snake's box then immediately switch characters, you will remain invincible and "hidden" to enemies. I played through the whole thing without a single enemy trying to attack me.

you can farm money from the box guys. if you have 2 little ones they join together. split them and you get money, let them rejoin again and repeat.
