Flamespawned, Try upgrading everything and giving everyone Boxing/Archery aside from your mages. Make sure at least two people are level 5, preferablly the ranged units.
The story was awesome, The game was awesome yet annoying at some parts, and overall a great game. I could drone on and on, echoing others, but i'll have to give it a 4/5. The only reason its not a 5/5 was because, well, to be frank, that was a shit ending.
