I'm not sure why, but while the Might level for my physical attack and mystic defense are the same, the percentage each gives isn't. My physical and mystic multipliers also used to be the same but aren't anymore.
Physical attack starts at 25% and increases by 1% each level and Mystic defense starts at 100% and increases by 1% each level. So you will get quite a bit more out of physical. Physical was the worst stat before Might so with Might you can make it a bit stronger.
