This is an interesting game! It has a unique feel to it, and I like the fact that most of the characters are actually pretty decent folks (while still being really seedy and kind of disgusting). On the downside, the main mechanic seems to be "search every square, and as soon as you get a new quest, search them all again." That's not very interesting to me. I'm partway through act II and I don't think I'll be coming back for more.
Three stars for a pretty standard launch game with poor documentation. Plus one because octopi are adorable, and this one seems so helpful! Transcribing the made-up languages was a nice touch too.
It's Snake! You did a great job of building on the classic snake game mechanic, but with a unique style and some good twists. I got frustrated a few levels into hardcore mode, but this really seems like the kind of casual game a person could go back to over and over.
It seems really inappropriate not to credit Braid, given that you use nearly identical game mechanics, along with very similar music, and even level titles.
Cute game, nice music, but yes, having to restart from the beginning every time is a huge pain. After I've cleared levels 1-5 a few times, doing it over and over is a totally pointless waste of my time.
I need to get better at not spinning my wheels when I hit a flagrantly non-phonetic word like "asphalt." Losing on level 15 is a real bummer! I also agree that skipping over the given letters when you're typing out the word is extremely awkward, though there might not be a good solution.
There's not enough content here to keep me engaged for long, but I've been playing through it this evening and the images have given me lots of smiles. I'm a tremendous lover of slimes, and I think your blob captures much of the same innocence, perseverance, and goodwill.
