I started playing again (though I'm nowhere near when I was able to shell out 20k+ HC Bounty runs) so here are some random tips:
- Sprint is very overlooked but every serious splatter should have it on them
- Know your swing range including the deadzone right infront you and remember your sword has wind which will still splat a little bit after swinging
- Avoid swinging near the edges, you can never know when a torchie enters
- Steering threats out of the screen is often the most viable strategy
- Take that 2 or 3 grinder combo instead of dying while trying to set up that good swing
- You can use frosties as an on-demand life saver shield if you let them circle you
- HC bounty is best played with Razor Glaive, Reactive Armor and Sprint
Well Stencyl itself is based on the Flixel flash framework so maybe you can try out that. You will have to directly code AS3 though. Flixel was developed with game needs in mind so it's fairly simple to make games in it. You can always hit me on IRC if you have more questions ;]
Stencyl sucks, the game foundations are solid however. Add upgrades, powerups, bosses and penalty for missing clicks to the sequel. And use something else than Stencyl, please ;]
there is an arrow on the top right => it restarts the current level. 6,3,1 are for the stars ;)

Thanks! I've made some changes to slow down enemies overall, along with increasing the time between waves during the earlier parts of the chapters to help give you more time to build and strategize!
My score is not always reported to Kong, therefore I didn't get the badge when finally passing 145k, the Kong high scores still show my second best. Also, past scores always show 0 par.
Easy mode becomes too easy because when you got to a checkpoint the game is automatically "saved" when you die (so you keep stuff you picked up AFTER touching checkpoint.) I think this feature should be removed. Otherwise I really liked this :)
So it seems that when i redo fully completed quests the game will remove additional energy without any kind of warning. Tried to start a 8 energy mission with 8 energy, and I just lost 4 energy then the game told me I don't have enough energy to start. Enjoy your 1/5 until I will get a warning or proper energy amount displayed.
It's worth noting that as with other energy based games, gold and xp gains can greatly vary between missions. Out of the first 23 missions (I got only so far yet), mission 13 offers the most gold gain per energy and only behind mission 21 in xp gain per energy (not to mention mission 13 is faster to play and easier to win than mission 21). Hence if you are grinding xp for a level-up or gold for a pack, consider playing the level with the most gains per energy.

caryatid: use sprint instead of hazard suit, might save your life a lot more times per game... also come play some hardcore bounty it's been a while since i had competition there, would love to have a nice reason to play a lot again :)
Blah, keep removing my hc bounty scores kong, i only get better, i made all-time 3rd on first try...
In another note, if anyone is interested how big scores are made, I will start uploading my games to youtube so kong can't just say I'm a hacker, stay tuned, urls will start flowing soon.
