I quite enjoyed how adding the pieces added to the music into the background. I would sometimes mess around with the mirrors to change the rhythm of the music and see how the flow chanced. Great concept, and would love to see a sequel.
First thing I just want to say. The civilians are supposed to run away from the horn. The horn should not be attracting more humans to the hood of my car than zombies. Secondly, along with everyone else, if I put a shotgun to your face, you are dead son. Real dead.
The game lags everything so heavily, especially when things get hectic, leaving you with no time to react and end up losing the whole level in seconds. This has irritated me frequently.
You would think if I wore Iron Man's suit that a bird would be no problem. But no, the birds are the bane of his armor's existence. Wonder if he had any trouble with them in the movies...
You have said that this is the end of the tale for this game and that this is no longer your story. I do not believe that to be true. For this game was merely a chapter, focusing on the actions of the detective. With the chapter finished, I look forward to the next chapter, aka sequel. Does this magic land influence anybody else? What will happen to the Queen in the beginning? What of the tree that grows there? What might he encounter? Will the wizard ever get a girlfriend? What are the other areas that you are able to explore in this magic land? There are many questions left unanswered within this game, within this chapter. They could only be answered by the next. As the creators, you brought forth this game from an idea you had, so I do hope you find the time to forge the next piece of the dream, as I would be awaiting it with an open mind.
Your points are all valid, but my reasoning is this: the world is alive. Things happen, things end and others begin. People live their own lives, and there are tons of other stories you could tell. It wouldn't be a problem to make a story about the other characters or about completely other places of the world, with different characters. I actually already know what some of the characters will be going through (as may be read, if I ever write Letters from Beyond the Rainbow ;) But that's just it. They live their own stories. This one was ours. We can't be in all places at once, do everything and see everything. We have to realize that. That is why the world actually feels alive.
There is a glitch on the crossroads of hard mode right after you exit from the blue areas that allows you to escape from the map for a period of time. Not sure how it happened but it did, and it put me at 900 too. So just a head ups.
I'm actually a little dissapointed. You have all the great movie actors, yet you didn't bring back the Prof from the second game. I mean, come on! Back to the Future? Great movie! Why wasn't he in the roster?
I don't like how when you start a new game, you don't get to earn any of your achievements. The game suddenly lack those moments of joy when you do something.
So I sat there wondering where all of the giant grubs and flying octopi were coming from. Suddenly I get to the nuclear wasteland after the bomb drops. I was like, "Well hat explains alot."
Definately a fun game overall. I would like to see better stats on the torpedoes so they can actually hit my targets later on. The idea of spawning two though was a smart idea, but maybe add some more? Top it off at four maybe? Also, perhaps research some more types of sealife. No offense, but we do have 'Shelled Octopi'. They are called Chambered Nautilus. Also, maybe you could add Gulper Eels, Comb Jellyfish, the Six-Gilled shark in a sequal. I think we would all like to see one.
