I ran into the same problem with this game as most of the other card games. In a battle with many opponents, somehow my characters always seem to end up with 2 armor cards and 3 movement cards. Warriors with 3 movement cards and no attack cards are worthless, clerics with 3 armor cards and no heals are worthless, Mages with 2 armor cards, 2 move cards and no attack cards are worthless There's no control over what card you want from which item (or I didnt pay enough attention to figure it out) and despite the fact that my warrior has some 20 odd attack cards available to him, somehow he ends up with a handful of armor cards. The other thing I hate, HATE, about this game is no matter what rolls the NPC's need, 9/10 times they get them and, of course, you get rolls you need maybe 5/10. Fighting 8 koibolds (who by the way always seem to have attack cards every round, go figure) with a 3 hands of movement/armor cards is about as fun as playing pool with a rope. 3/5
You sure I'm not the Polish army? None of my gunners can hit the broad side of a barn. I got like 5 germans huddled around 2 static machine guns, neither of which (the static machine guns) can hit any of them at all. Also, lol, the AT cannon i ordered succesfully blew up all 4 of my soldiers and only 2 of theirs.
Game in normal mode was fun, upgrades are well done, however, "survival" mode should be called "Spikes 'n Bosses" mode. There ain't a section of rooftop that doesnt have 3-6 sets of spikes on it and with all three bosses on screen at once, it's pretty impossible to dodge all the spikes and the bosses at the same time. I've seen bullet dodging games with less to dodge than "survival" mode here.
Another typical tower game that's fun for the first few levels, then despite upgrades and tower improvements, you can't do anything to stop enemies. I tried every combination of towers/upgrades and trolls and spiders just run right through. 2/5
There are different modes to play this game. Modes for difficulty for challenge. Modes for different scenario for twist.
I think you should play it once again.
3/5 Arena system is terrible, keeps doing "connection lost" in the middle of high energy battles when my network is stable (costing me energy I cant get back for 30 minutes), some of the cards are stupidly overpowered (osmosis 800, the one card that kills all of your monsters in one round that EVERYBODY seems to have in the arena, the energy system sucks as there's no way to expand the amount of energy you can have). Other than that it was fun for awhile, but now the decks of the opponents in the regular game seem to always down power yours and up power theirs. I haven't had access to half the cards that do this for my deck. I understand that the point of that side of the game is to get me to spend money on buying cards, however, I'm not going to so neener neener and it costs you rating points.
This game is fun and well done. The only thing I've encountered that I dont like are the traps. They've killed me more times than the monsters have. I havent figured out if there's a way to spot them or avoid them and i'm averaging 3 a level. I also like (sarcastically) that there's a statistic when you die that's "Fell in traps". Well, no duh, it aint like I can see them/avoid them/disable them. Might as well say "random times the game took a hit point". 3.5/5, might have been a 4 but the traps kind of kills the fun and strategy of which mob to kill/when to use scolls/shops to heal.
retardedly strong enemies with retardedly slow reload speed even with the skill points, retarded aiming + retardedly strong enemies = retardedly hard game
lol another game that looks good but omg balance? 80% of their mortars right in my trench...10% of mine go anywhere remotely where I put the CH. 4 germans in a trench decimate 2 full advancing lines and then those same 4 guys rush my trench and take out another 2 lines. yeah right... 2/5
Regular game is fun, challenges suck. Challenges suck because while the game is random for you, it's not for the program. 4 times in a row in different games on the mad experiment card, the computer got the damage. It gets twice the health cards you do and is limited on which insanity it can get. I only have 5 challenges left and I'm not wasting my time on this game anymore. thx for the fun, won't play a second edition. 2/5
lol!! i gave the 200hp bonus to one of my guys and he died in 3 shots, spaced 1 sec apart. Crazy. why do i still play this unbalanced game? guess i won't be anymore...or the next one 2/5 still.
Game is getting more fun, however, I'm still ending every game under 20% (and I had an E-9 with around 65 gun skill) accuracy, while the Germans get 30-40%. Each rank your soldier gets should get a small health or accuracy bonus, instead of getting 1 shotted at randome times in the game. Still not going to give it more than 2/5, because of the accuracy rate. Then again it doesn't say what army you are, so I must be getting the Polish army every time...j/k
lol i got a guy up 4 ranks and then he was 1 shotted. Tactical point gen sucks, my squad accuraccy was 13.4% while the germans was 34%, 3 supply crates dropped right on the germans, and overall waste of time. I rarely re-rank games but this one goes to 1/5. Has tons of potential to be great, but yet another game that thinks that horribly handicapping one side is "tactical". btw wtf are the barb wire and bunkers for if the jerrys just walk right over them?
Sounds like card games aren't your cup of tea. Good luck finding a genre with less variance! Cheers =)
