Loved the game I have never seen a find the difference game where the scene has movement to it very nice 5/5. The only thing that would be nice to have is a second cursor on the side where your mouse isn't to make comparing the position of things easier.
thanks for the response that was very helpful. One last thing I think you should let people know (most likely at the start of your platforming tutorial) is that when you import an actor's image you have to use gifs to make the white background not show up during gameplay. I was driving myself crazy trying to get rid of that white background until i came across a comment on one of your tutorials that said to use gifs instead of jpegs.
I actually use PNGs myself, but yes GIF works. Actually, even JPEGs work if you use the "set transparent color" in Stencyl (not a recommended route, but it works). Good idea to mention it in the next tutorial though (which should be starting up soon now... Mr. Goldfish: Reboot! is nearing completion).
When you are setting up the Powerup actor for collisions you use a getter called the actor to put into the kill self code, but the getter the actor isn't there anymore in Stencyl 2.0 so I was wondering what do we use to replace the kill the actor code.
The monster carnage event really needs to be better explained. Im not sure if I should be worried that I can't see the Brukkarg tribe or does the event actually start when the timer is done.
this is like a shorter, lower graphics, but better storyline version of motherload and either this game doesn't have an ending or it glitches up if you collect the green gem before the laboratory guy tells you to
and quite a bit has changed in the new 2.0 Stencyl update so it might be a good idea to update some of the screenshots and instructions in this guide. Still very helpful though now when I look at the behavior creating screen my brain doesn't explode. very helpful 5/5
I would update the guide, but many are still using 1.4, and I plan on making an entire 2.0-based platformer tutorial series as soon as I finish my current game. I hope to have the first part up by the end of the month.
hey moose I did a little bit of searching since I had the same problem as you and I found out that in the new stencyl 2.0 update to get your always statement click add event open basics and then click on When Updating and you will get your always statement.
