The zombie expedition update is 5/5. Enjoyed every bit of it. It looked unwinnable which made it satisfying beating those levels. Just play the style you like - you can win with both 'aggressive' and 'slow & steady'.
tldr: the 1.2.1.5 patch broke old save files.
Okay... Ignore my previous comment about save file and playing on Steam - hell i'm even downvoting my own comment. At the moment, it seems using a kong-save on steam is fine. But a steam-save on Kong messes it up a lot. It became a very buggy mess, lost like all my gold cap, heroes - guild lvl still the same but no heroes. that's all i have noticed so far.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'm currently investigating this issue. It seems to take a while to fix it.
Here are some findings from the investigations so far and potential solutions:
1. Save file exported before the [ver. 1.2.1.5] update on Kongregate seems to load correctly on Steam. However, save file exported on Steam may not load correctly on Kongregate. If you plan to continue playing on Steam rather than Kongregate, you can load your Kongregate save on Steam to continue your progress.
2. Some users have reported that they were able to load save file (exported before the [ver. 1.2.1.5] update on Kongregate) by clearing the cache data on the Kongregate website.
3. For Mac users, it appears that loading save file in Safari works correctly. Regardless of whether you are a Mac user or not, changing the browser you use may help you load your save.
I'll continue investigations more. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
if you haven't made a save, it would be best to not enter the game just yet. If you do, it will overwrite the save file. It's a big maybe if the game saves the offline progress.
@keeperBvK - you can deduce the rarity by colour of the text. as for faction, that's more to do 'guessing' by look at the bosses. Order is usually humans/lawful good kind of thing going on. Chaos - demons etc. Nature - beast/plant looking.
@KeeperBvK - Another reason to save your rebirths is for when they are discounted (you can check the event center for old notifications) - not sure how the discount interacts, I started playing 2 weeks ago.
@crazyman536 - I just remembered another early game strat with the local saves. You can reset the daily missions - save the game before the daily quest are given. If your not satisified with the daily quests, then load the save before daily missions were given, and keep doing that until you like the ones you are given. I don't bother with it anymore since i got all the upgrades that i felt were high-priority.
@crazyman536 - 100 Epic coins is nothing. and it's only one time. that wouldn't solve the problem. It's just people not being 'just to be safe' or not know that browsers save aren't very safe. I feel like they should have changed the message fothe notification to save to something else that would make people incline to save instead of the '100 epic coins'
@Joey_Skylynx - give the game another go. you seem to be in the learning stage of this game (you haven't beaten 20 stages for the badge yet). This was my first time playing this kind of game, I learning how this game works is easy to pick up. And look on the bright side - hard badge will get easier since they keep adding more maps. If you think you can't beat a map, that's okay move onto the next one.
@uliSnake - save files can go 'forward' but don't work 'backwards'. i.e. Version 1 save file can be used in Version 2, Version 2 cannot be used in Version 1. Just keep playing the Steam one and hope that one day the Kongregate version catches up to the Steam.
@Bajuran55 - you probaly should join the studio's discord and see if they can do anything. no point asking here, Kongregate doesn't have control of the game.
@Dankaw I figured as much since the drop rate of those rare items didn't feel rare. tbh, i've only been keeping them in case i need farm their material. So far, I've been using magicslime one to farm for cloth for the enchanted shard general quest.
