4/5 - I came in expecting a puzzle game with narative elements and walked out with a narative story that had puzzles once every ~15 minutes. Aside from the the text dumps being laid on a bit much at times (especially towards the end), some of the puzzles being a bit to hard (requiring a tad to specific of knowledge in my opinion, or to much trial and answer), the artwork lacking at times (I would not mind seeing the characters actually exist in the environment and not just exist as cardboard cutouts standing 6ft away from me), and the story falling a bit a apart as they try tie together all the loose threads and subplots, it's a pretty good game.
Only got confused twice. Didn't realize you could drink the coffee, and I didn't realize I didn't solve a tv screen. Otherwise, was pretty straight forward. 4/5
I'm less than halfway through the game (only at level 18) and honestly this game is based for a f2p game. It's long, boring, and you either grind for ages (and wait hours for quests to complete) or pay money for currency to get chests to get better items. The last game (Band of Heroes) wasn't perfect, but I liked it more. It had a story, better artwork, better skills, more hero types... the only thing this game addtwo things :equipment, which that just replaces getting powerups in the levels (sans the speed up potion and the health potion) and means that unless the item has Shooting, Leader, or Loot you will probably ignore it (or hoard it for no good reason like me) AND hero subclasses... which there are only two of for each hero and honestly they don't change enough. 3/5 stars
This game has potential, but needs to do some improvement before I can really call it great: 1) Needs more enemy types, maybe mini-rock golems and sentry mushrooms or something. 2) More room environments, not every room needs to be a grassy field, maybe try a volcano/mountain or a snowy forest. 3) Maybe make it so that taller obstacles (like the trees) block bullets, allowing for players to take cover and hide? 4) Maybe add a "combo" meter, giving a loot multiplier for killing enemies quickly. 5) Maybe give the player a shield (bound to shift) so that we can block some projectiles (make it have a charge meter or something so that we can't just wait out the boss fights). Overall, solid concept, just needs so polish.
Fun game, though I had a small bug. I captured the enemy queen and pawns, freeing my own, but died to the king before my queen could save the day. I restart the fight, but my pawn is instead already a queen and goes on to kill the enemy king. Not sure if this is intended, but seems unintentional and I wanted to bring it to your attention.
Pretty good game, but there is a slight bug. When you switch arrows/skills using 'A' (or whichever key switches one to the left) you'll shoot to the left (unless you move to the right before shooting, after switching).
Overall 4/5, I want more levels, challenges, enemies, bosses, upgrades... everything. Hopefully you can add that to the sequel.
Pretty good. The only things I would add are a help icon so you can see what each of the tabs does and an easy way to see how much each employee earns on each item.
Cool interaction many seemed to have missed. On the tree boss, you can use sheeps to eat away at its leaves. Not sure if it does damage, but did help my resources a bit.
Though I think Portal-esque puzzle game environments are overdone, this was still a fun game with an innovative mechanic they used. A bit short, but I was failing enough towards the end of the game that I am glad it didn't over stay it's welcome. Some suggestions: As many others have put it a simple "Q rotates this way and E rotates this way" HUD would be nice, and also allowing us to press 'R' to restart a room if we're stuck instead of having to run into spikes would be nice. All-in-all, a fun game, can't wait to see what comes next.
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed playing. I'm probably not adding anything at this point, but as far as restarting there's actually a restart button in the pause menu. I initially had where you could press [R] to restart, but I felt like it was too likely to be accidentally pressed being right next to [E].
It feels as if this game is only partially complete, like a bad port. I came across a handful of glitches my first time through, which I would have accepted from a brand new game, but this isn't a new game. It's a port from Steam. Even if it was a new game, the end game is said to exist (you know, rebuying buildings and technologies), yet I find no evidence of this, and even if it did it would be totally useless. I like this game (maybe the best of the series), yet these flaws seem easy to fix. Also, what is up with the Civilization Points for Sparta? Consumable points to boost a run? That doesn't need to exist. Make them be weaker permanent upgrades for both Sparta and Athens, and maybe then I'll accept them. Till then 4/5 Stars, good but if these flaws are in the next game, they won't be treated as lightly.
I would love to see a sequel to this, or at least a remake/remastered version with more upgrades and auto/idle mechanics, though I think the developers aren't active anymore, so I'll doubt it will ever happen.
Flash Videos (The Cinema) failed to work for me, and covered up the button to leave, forcing me to refresh the page and lose a bunch of fish. So, yeah... don't watch the cinema in game.
great game, but the music is trying a bit to hard to convey the sad emotion of the game. I don't need a super sad piano to tell me how to feel the entire game.
