Fun game. My biggest gripe would be that, like with many arthouse games, there isn't a satisfying conclusion. There's a lot of buildup and no payoff. Still interesting though.
This is probably the most fun Metroidvania I've played in awhile. So many non-linear upgrades, it almost feels like an RPG that rewards exploration instead of killing the same few enemies over and over.
Oh great, another old-school style turn based RPG with self-referential humor... Yeah, it was funny when Earthbound did it, but that's the thing about humor, it stops being funny when everybody does the same thing!
I think we've finally found the secret love child of Final Fantasy 6 and Earthbound. Pretty awesome, but you'd have gotten more points from me if you ripped off Chrono Trigger too. Chrono Trigger > FF6
What is the point of idle games? Games are supposed to entertain you. The leveling systems in games are supposed to supplement the gameplay. Why in the world would you want the leveling without the actual gameplay? That's like drinking salad dressing.
It's incredibly repetitive and there doesn't seem to be any sort of challenge at all. Not for me, anyway. I'd say either use a click counter or a timer or something like that. Still, I like that you're trying for something different than the legions of samey spaceship shooters and tower defense games. 2/5.
This game is functional, sure, but it's so bland. It seems more like a template for an MMO than an actual MMO. Am I the only one bothered by the fact that this game has a higher rating than Remnants of Skystone, a game that is much more original and well-designed?
I do have some complaints, like how you can't go back to the main menu from the battle screen, and how the separate inventories concept, while interesting and refreshingly different than FF, makes it so much more confusing and unintuitive when you're trying to figure out who you should equip with what armors and accessories to master all the different abilities. But frankly, all the complaints I can think of are minor and petty, and any game that can keep me entertained for this many hours deserves 5 stars. And I also love how you're connecting each of these chapters to one another via save files, because it's making the series feel like a full-length, real, retail game that I would gladly spend money on. All in all, I'm very impressed. Keep up the good work, pseudo!
