In BasketDudes you may be only disconnected from a match because of continued bad connectivity issues or due to total inactivity for more than 20 seconds (understood as being AFK, which is no fun for your opponent, logically...). Normally you should be pre-noticed about any of these before actually happening. But in the case of bad connectivity, it may occur in some extreme cases that you get disconnected suddenly due to a very high peak in latency. It seems in your case it did happen at a very inopportune moment... but, most likely, you were already having connectivity issues all along the match.
