Nice game--just a little too short, but that's ok. I saw the comments about the puzzles being nonintuitive, but I thought they made perfect sense. I am usually the one that needs the cheats! I just thought the first clues on the floor were impossible to miss, and then I was watching for them after that.

You don't need the axe to end the game, so you can choose to leave it where it is.
About the key, it exists: you just have to look VERY CAREFULLY to see it.
HINT: it is a grey key on a grey background. :D

@bumperhumper (and anyone else losing saved games), this started happening to me too, and not just for this game. For me, I think it was upgrading to Firefox 4. The trick seems to be allowing cookies from Kongregate...
