End of second, suddenly Fred pulls to the right and cannot be moved left again. Dead. Retry and more or less the same place it starts pulling to the left and cannot be moved right. Dead again.
There is definitely something screwy there and I won't be back.
So, you earn points from achieving things. Fine. You can use these points to armour yourself. Fine. Once you have done so, nothing changes except the way the character looks, so you have now wasted 80 points that you could have used to open up the Pursuit and Hardcore modes. Very not fine. I don't have an issue with the concept, would just have been good to be told that the armour did nothing before shelling out for it.
So ... the arrows kind of come out of nowhere and are almost impossible to see. Do I assume that if I was playing with sound there would be an audible clue that they were on the way?
Nice game, totally ruined by the fact that it doesnt seem to actually remember which levels I have completed, nor has it given me any of the badges despite completing al 30.
So, let me see if I have understood this. To get anywhere in this game, you have to grind endlessly and yet after completing a level collecting all blops, will only receive one third as much income the next time through the level, while the cost of upgrades increases massively, from what was a much too high price to start with?
The Bloons games have been pretty good so far, and this one if fun until you realise how much grinding is involved. 2/5 from me.
This has somewhat restored my faith in FlipLine after a lengthy sequence of essentially re-skinned versions of the same grinding food game. However, am I the only player who thinks the Hard badge is awarded way too early in the process? I still have almost two whole levels of missions to complete and over 10 warp keys to obtain and have all the badges. Ihave to say I have definitely played games with Medium badges harder than this.
The fundamental mechanics of this game are good. Slick, nice difficulty curve, good speed, "just one more go" gameplay, etc. However, the pricing issue is a deal breaker. If you are going to have upgrades like this, and they are going to get more expensive as the game progresses, then the player's ability to collect coins needs to improve along with it, otherwise it is just so much grinding.
After several days of trying, and edging my score ever upwards, finally exceeded 25,000. No badge. Figured it was a glitch, refreshed and after several more tries managed it again. Still no badge.
Not good enough!
Great game ... but it really needs an onscreen check of how many coins you have collected as you drive through the level. Only thing I haven't completed is collecting all of the coins on every level, and getting sick of not knowing whether I have found them all until I finish.
Can't help but feel that stepped rather than fluid movement was the way to go ... and the flashing/pulsing thing just hurts my eyes. Only a 2/5 from me.
OK, so I am running the latest Flash player (and reinstalled it just to make sure) but the game still refuses to run and asks me to download the latest Flash player. Loved the first one but, sorry, that's pathetic.
I am all for straightforward TD games, without shedloads of complicated towers, and the difficulty curve of the levels themselves seems OK, but the amount of grinding required once you get past the first few levels of upgrades just renders the game incredibly boring. You shouldn't have to play levels a dozen times just to earn enough upgrade points to upgrade one item.
I think some people are missing the point of the game here ... your total time for a hole is the time you take to complete it PLUS 5 seconds for each shot you took. Ergo, finish the hole in 20 seconds 3 shots and your total time will be 35 seconds, finish it in 2 shots and it will be 30 seconds, hole in 1, 25 seconds, etc. All quite logical. Frustrating, but logical.
