I have been enjoying this game for a long time now but I have run into a fatal issue. I have had stable water supply via pipes and pumping stations throughout my entire population for several days/hours/ticks, etc. All of a sudden I see a farm with every animal dead, then another and another. I realize that the water is no longer pumping through the pipes and it's all getting clogged into 1 pipe near the station. There's no rhyme or reason, I certainly have workers and pipes in stock for repairs. I have tired replacing the pipes and the pump station to no avail. I have been slowly optimizing everything so that meant finding new uses for the space that water huts took up. Well now that for some unknown reason that water isn't pumping I have to revert backwards or completely unstabilize my population.
