@daddybat: What if you get a random weapon from a crate that you don't know anything about? You have to aim randomly hoping that it will actually do something without making yourself look like an idiot.
If you think about it, the shiny is actually kind of fair. If they had something like 10 000 shiny for 10 dollars, they would get way ahead of anyone else too easily.
