The reason the monsters look so "cute" is because about a year ago this game was updated and changed the pictures of all monsters. Except DAVE. It pretty much looked all black with wide eyes.

This game was originally called Desktop Creatures, Based on the desktop tower defense series, but it was changed to backyard monsters since it wasn't really a desktop. The owner made these games on a site called thecasualcollective. When this game was first made there were no teslas, lazers, railguns, bunkers, champion stuff, monster juicers, level 2+ blocks, level 6+ town hall, yard planners, catapults, zafs, teratorns, inferno stuff, vorg, slimeattikus, wormzerz, academies, monster labs, hell i could go on all day with the list. As far as i'm concerned, they hired someone else to run this game (Kixeye) and he changed the game. A lot. The sniper tower was just a blue tall tower, it has changed so much since this game first came out. You may notice that some of the new towers in this game are similar to the ones in desktop tower defense like the quake/bash towers and the cannon/dart towers.

@Cookie_neko: Some of them do, or at least there were some that did before the big update. Also don't forget the fact that shiny is a PREMIUM feature of the game.
I think some of you are forgetting the fact that this is a premium game. If you really want shiny then just buy some.If you can't buy any then there is nothing you can do. Kixeye also has a forum where people can suggest ideas (one of the rules though are no asking for free shiny.
Cmelroy: Use the Crypt's Disarm by making out the first path of upgrades. There is a chance that it will get rid of the stealth thing for ninjas. If it doesn't work try again. Also I believe the fear ability may be good enough but i'm not sure.
The reason for the combo timeout, YellowCheetah, is so if you go on a speedrun for fastest time in original mode you can use it to end your combo to get your money faster instead of going to the shop and waiting for the combo to end. (I am first on weekly leaderboard) It can also be used if you want to end a long combo if you get bored and you want to spend your money on stuff.

Yeah Supervaller, looks like the Gorgo has a few problems lately. Mine is dissapearing and appearing every second. I think its the crappiness of the computer i'm using but I have heard many problems about him.
Dont use your AP on searching until its the last thing you are spending AP on because you can lose up to 3 that you could be saving up on having a party on.
