If this game needs anything, it would be secrets. As a pilot, I know that a few hours' lead time may not be the best time for a course correction, but is is definitely possible considering the approximated dimensions of the ship. From a story standpoint, there should've been more information and possibly hidden dialogue on the condition of the ship. There is so much potential, and it really begs the question; What is truly human? From a pilot's standpoint, even though the autopilot disengaged, spacecraft have safeties against this. The only real way this could've been done is if the craft was launched directly at the star, considering ~99% of the universe is empty space. You could
eye the maneuver, send an SOS, and enjoy that chess game. From the standpoint of a modder/developer, I know that it would be an immense waste of time to program in content that only a VERY small group, but hey, Scott Manley might feature your game, eh?
Dev. team, If you ever update this game, make planets further apart, but give them a gravity field approximate to their size. you don't have to do THAT much coding, just have the projectiles constantly speed up towards the center of the planet. (It would also be smart to add a time limit on projectiles, in case a perfect orbit is achieved)
