I still don't know exactly what causes the error. All I can tell you that the game tries to reserve 256MB of non-fragmented memory at the start. Please check out if the problem persists in the latest version when playing on "low" settings.
@tyler45 yeah you're right. It was working for me because I was barely pass my reactor threshold. but once I go beyond that my heat vents instantly melt down, even though it was well below the heat capacity of the vent.
@nookknock at the temps tyler45 is talking about, it should take a full minute to cool down to 1k (at about -5% total heat per tick).
@tyler45 the excessive heat doesn't have to be a problem. You can pause after 1 tick, sell your power and place the 1st heat vent. The heat vent won't break if you've kept up you cooling ability, and the reactor will slowly vent into it.
