When I started playing, I was very positive, I loved the gameplay and the artwork. At that point, I thought it was a 5/5. Then it went downhill. From being a simple but fun puzzle-game, it became something more like a annoying platformer. 3/5
I had two major problems with this game. First, as have already been mentioned, Why do enemies come from the right side when you cant see in that direction? Having missiles appear at point-blank range is just annoying. The second problem is even worse, since it renders the game unplayable. When the missile-ships stop off-screen they can only be destroyed using some powerups. I've tried to play this game twice, both games ended in a infinite rain of missiles from of-screen. Did you even playtest this game?
At lvl 7, it's possible to destroy all the "bases" without killing enough enemies to win. Now I'm stranded in a completely empty field, and have no choice but to restart.
the one thing that annoys me the most is how whenever you die, you must enter a village again, to restore your weapon configuration. I would prefer longer respawn intervals.
My main concern with this game is your unability to control your hand of cards.
I believe it would be great if the discard feature would let you choose to either get the sanity bonus, or discard another card.
The card that forces your opponent to discard stinks. When you play it, its somewhat okay because the AI throws away good cards. However, when my opponent plays it, i cheer, dance and throws some garbage out.
Possible fix: let the caster choose what goes away.
Besides, the AI is rather unintelligent.
It summons when xenophobic, replaces good creatures with weaker ones, resets favorable positions, plays dispel against nothing, and so on.
Still, i like this game.
4/5 for now, possibly 5/5 in the future.
