Maybe try to change the classic game into your own variation? Add something that would make this worthwhile to play... It's your own creation. Be crative.

You can do that too. Create an invisible "hitBox" clip inside your ship, and when hitTesting your hitTest against ship.hitBox instead of just ship
KrayZ the enemies that home in on you wiggles up and down if you're at the same height lol.
