I try to submit the missing badge and get
"There were problems with the following fields:
Badge/Card/Challenge can't be blank"
over and over despite every field being filled correctly. It is bad enough the server can't be reached, the API is broken but when the feedback form can't be submitted!?
Super laggy on my netbook even on low quality. Game progress not saved so everything was lost when I reloaded the browser hoping it MIGHT speed the game up (it didn't). No point in trying any further.
Did FO go offline already? The note above the game said Jan 1 but it isn't loading for me and the chat room is empty leading me to believe it has been taken offline.
Finally get the code for the lock, go to the door with the lock, the lock appears and goes off the screen and the game stops responding. wth!? Since the game doesn't save progress, I have to start over.
I know it isn't the same as playing on Kong with the Kong API but I found a site that let me download the swf file for DTD1.5. It is here: http://wikisend.com/download/238334/dtd15dl.swf Feel free to submit it to Virustotal, etc if you want to be extra safe.
To make matters worse, the www.handdrawngames.com site appears to be down (and has been for a few days) so you are stuck with armorgames unless someone else knows a different link.
The version at handdrawngames.com advertises Kong but doesn't interact with the Kong API so no scores are reported to Kong. Also, the email address on the handdrawngames.com site bounces. I tried to send the dev an email asking him to fix DTD on Kong but no bueno. Given I (and I assume others) have asked the dev via multiple sources including his Facebook page to work on getting this fixed, I take he just doesn't care one way or the other. This is unfortunate since I think the fix would involve minimal effort from all parties.
Wait a second....handdrawngames is still hosting this (http://www.handdrawngames.com/DesktopTD/Game3.asp) and if you select the 1.5 version it >IS< the Kongregate version which I assume has the Kong API in it. What is going on here? Why isn't that the one Kong links to?
Go pester the author. He is at http://twitter.com/preecep. I sent him a message on Facebook a few months ago only...to have his Facebook page seem to go very private and he never responded to any message over Kong.
Since Kong has indicated it is a matter of the developer fixing the issue and preecep hasn't logged in to Kong (using his preecep account anyway) for at least a year or so, I say Kong users should contact him via social media. I noticed his Twitter account is preecep so why not let him know. Maybe he will at least let Kong host the flash files (like armor games does) for his older games since the worst that could happen is it >might< generate traffic to his new site.
Seems like all CasualCollective/preecep game (Desktop Tower Defense, etc) are broken. Some give 'URL not found', some just don't load at all (grey screen). I reported it as a bug but I fear it is intentional in that maybe Kixeye only wants Facebook players on their games and I think Kong was loading the files from the causualcollective, etc URLs. I did notice DTD does load on Armor games but it shows 'Armor Games version' so I suspect they host the flash files locally.
What is the 'campaign'? By that, I mean what is involved in completing it. I have finished everything but the endless dungeon (got to level 15 or so and gave up) and the Thieves in the Sewer and....nada.
Completed bonus map again, Halo mission not provided by game but I still don't show any badge (or ticket). Seems this game is broken for a lot of people.
