After 4 hours of playing, I have yet to find a single thing wrong with this game, and very few areas that could use any improvement at all. Some games are good, some games are great. This game redefines the genre.
@Dugesz: Dark enemies have high avoidability, so group together your archers and berzerkers (all preferably at boost 3). That way, you attack them so many times that you're bound to get in enough hits to kill'em!
The use of hidden passages is great for secrets and shortcuts, but its impossible to remember where those shortcuts are once I find them. It would be great if the map could note the location of revealed passages once they're found to 1) make travel a bit easier and 2) remind me which power-ups/crystals I've already found.
Lots of stuff wrong here, but I'll try not to repeat what's already been said. The difficulty curve of this game is so out of whack that I can never understand whether I can stand up to a boss or not. The first enemy you fight has 100 HP, and the first boss has like 1000. Granted, your damage gets a nice boost every time you throw a point into STR of WIS, but that doesn't change the fact that it's confusing. Oh, and what is the point of random battles if you give partial control to the player?
Matt's versatility lasted me through the entire game. If you focus on main weapon charge speed, health, and damage, Matt is able to clean up in any situation.
354. I found that you just recycled puzzles as the game went on. It was fun, but I felt like there could have been even more variety thrown in there. 4/5
Dear January,
I have just completed one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life that do not involve you. The Epiphany has shown me much. I would have you touch the Epiphany, but I would not want your eternal perfection to be marred by by such a lifeless, misshapen place. Alas, my journey was difficult. Really, really difficult. And long. And kind of confusing at times. And a strain on my eyes. My only solace now is knowing that my eyes will soon be comforted by the sight of you, and that I will be able to give this game a 5/5. I rush to you. Yours, September.
I actually really liked it. Some suggestions however: 1. Make it easier it hit enemies. I found the targets to be too small, so I wasted energy trying to find the actual hit register 2. More upgrades, more upgrade levels. I upgraded everything max by level 16, so for the rest of the game all I could spend on was repairs. Perhaps damage upgrades, recharge rate upgrades, and extra mini coils? 3. Longer. Either make the levels last longer of make more of them
Flaws aside, I really enjoyed it. 4/5.
There needs to be some way to view what you have already unlocked and give an explanation on how to do it. Like if you get a new rage power, after saying "You have unlocked a new rage power" tell us how to DO it. Some kind of map would have helped as well, but it's still awesome. 5/5
