Someone said they don't mind that it is similar to Burrito Bison...you do realize Burrito Bison isn't in any way original whatsoever and doesn't even remotely deserve its success right?
This game is great...as someone else said, it's very well designed. I like the style with mixing some memes in, great promotional technique. As I played the game I found that you made none of the little mistakes most developers make with a game like this, and your upgrades were priced and weighed perfectly. Absolute 5/5.
I agree with the (current) top comment entirely. I thought this game was boring and simplistic...and it is simplistic, but it's not boring. The addition of water spiced it up fantastically, and about halfway in it got to be quite fun. Now if you could make it 3D that would be awesome. Perhaps you could make it so if you hold the left mouse button down it goes towards the background and when you release it comes back to the front, and require the player to time transitions well?
This game is great, but as others have stated it's really hurt by the graity/friction...I have a strong feeling that's why the rating is so low. Update it and you'll surely watch your rating skyrocket. Or for that matter, pull it, make sure save games transfer, and upload the new version separately so you aren't hurt by the low ratings you've already received.
Fun game! On the last level, however, I'm beating it but the little circular guy resting on the right-hand plank at the bottom of the screen isn't lighting on fire and thus isn't lighting its respective tinder on fire either. Doesn't bother me much since it was the last level, but you might want to get it fixed if you can duplicate it. :)
I did some testing for you on the second talesworth arena (the first full-length one, I believe?) and since I hadn't seen your previous puzzle game I was quite excited that you found a way to work that sort of gameplay into a puzzle game. When I found out you hadn't, I was disappointed as I've never been a fan of this style of game. To my surprise though, I'm really enjoying it so far! It's well thought out, I currently have 20/40 stars, and it's really stretching my brain to get gold on "where do the shields go?" Well done!
Thanks for the beta testing on the arena. I may be asking for your assistance again in the future if I code an arena sequel (or a hybrid of one) :) Good luck on the rest of the stars.
I remember playing this when it was released and having trouble and I don't believe I finished it, but I just played it start to finish without much trouble. I think it would be really cool if there was a sequel that required you to use broader commands to complete more complicated tasks, and rather than assigning each individual command you referenced command sets. Then there could be a level set that allowed you to import your game data from the original, and use all the command sets you made in this one plus all the main lines as their own sets!
It's rare that I say this, especially since I don't like tower defense games normally...but my only complaint is that it wasn't longer. This game's awesome!
