This is a fun little game that makes for a nice way to casually pass some time. There's just the right amount of depth here to make it wholly engaging but still keep it within the realm of a time killer. Really, the only issue I see is that there isn't a whole lot of replay value outside of badge hunting. Bonus and challenge levels would've been a great addition to mix things up a bit and keep us playing for a little bit more, as would multiple difficulty settings that not only make enemies tougher to kill, but give the more powerful enemies some extra attacks to keep players on their toes. Otherwise the only change I would make is to up the difficulty of the final boss, especially since her first stage is exactly like the first fight with her except that she turns party members into pigs. All in all a really good game that earns an easy 4/5, with the lack of replay value being the one thing that really stopped it from being a 5/5 casual experience for me.

So Kongregate's decision to make the user levels come up in a window separate from the game screws all of us from being able to get the 24th yin yang. Awesome -_-

I honestly don't know what's worse about this game: the fact that the battle "system" really makes little, if any, sense, the fact that half the powerups just plain don't work, or the incessantly irritating "music" you saw fit to include. A very badly designed game all around, leagues worse than what I'd expected.

It's not often that I say this about a flash game. In fact, I've never said what I'm about to say about a flash game, but this truly is one of the best games I have ever had the pleasure to both play and experience. Solid gameplay, good art, unique and interesting characters, and an immersive story evocative of Xenosaga, Star Wars, D&D and even Cowboy Bebop in some ways. Very well thought out in many ways, with the sole complaints I have being the repetition of bosses throughout the levels and the issue of the cafe only being available immediately before a mission which, sadly, did pull away from the sense of urgency this game displayed at times. I will also say the jump in difficulty from the first two worlds to the third was a bit more extreme than expected, but all of these issues are minor in my mind, and despite them all I gladly give this game 5/5. Were it retail, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

So did anyone else notice that the quotes for Indie Mode is the text from the intro for Final Fantasy 8?

An alright game, I'd play it again at some point but in terms of actual content it's really blah. The gameplay itself is very simple which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but since you're restricted from aiming anywhere but directly in front of you it makes certain enemies incredibly annoying. Honestly, I had more trouble with those damn moths than anything else in the game, even the bosses. Speaking of the bosses each of them is far too easy, especially the final boss. 3.5/5, primarily for the atmosphere, great creature designs and awesome music.
