a very good concept. I like it. Definitely could use some tweaking and polishing such as resolution and screen size. Definitely need to make the maps immobile, trying to click mobs while they move and having the whole map move is a bit bothersome. Aside from that.. having just started the game a little bit ago, I like it. Thank you.
Glad you like it! I probably haven't made this very clear, but this game is officially versioned "Alpha 0.1". It's a sneak peek at what the gameplay is like, with limited amount of content and stuff you can do. There's a lot more on the way! The developer log button in the bottom right links you to a site that describes in concrete terms what I'm currently working on, what will be in the next patch and what is planned for the near future.
4/5 I like the general concept and design of the game. As a whole it seems to function just fine. I enjoy the fact that it is laid back and not play intensive. A wonderful mix of Idle and active play. look forward to seeing what else is to come with this game.
Thank you for your review ! The future of this game depends on how people like it, but I like doing new things, so if you like laid back management games, stay tuned as this is my favorite genre, and I guess that most of my future releases will be that way (like colony games, contemplative gameplay, god games, etc...) I started game making three months ago, so this is only the beginning. :)
nice.. but ass piebilde said, too short.. how do you get to the rooms with ? label, how do use inventory items? a lot that is not really explained. nice game otherwise.
very nice. Glad to see you are taking constructive criticism and putting effort into the game. Above all... THAT is what separates potentially good devs from complete hacks...... keep up the good work! definitely much more satisfying slapping the crap out of things now! thank you!
for a first game, I would be inclined to say it was a great game were it not so tedious to get through. definitely needs a mute button. great start.. but hard to stick with it when it is so repetitive with no gain for such a long time.
not bad for a start.. pickaxe in mining screen doesn't move with the character model. the auto upgrades don't seem to do anything, nothing is being done on auto. Interesting concept with some potential. keep at it!
definitely needs work, but the fact that it functions for the most part is a good start. Keep working on it and you will get more practice in to be able to learn how to get things closer to where you want them to be. Don't give up.
far from scary I am afraid, relying completely on jump scares.. first one or two may startle someone, but after that its just dull, and the fact that the head bob MASSIVELY destroys everything that could potentially draw you into feeling creeped out or scared... not to mention that it didn't take long before the game would not allow forward movement without having to strafe in the direction you want to go. also the super heavy footstep pull you out of the ambiance and what not as well...
very good, I have to say it was an all around great game. good music. even though you seem to be moving very fast there is the illusion of being so slow as you see your health dropping and you keep running into dead ends.. all in all great game. 5/5 thank you.
very nice. I liked it. The small details of the face turning into a pong game after it sits for a few seconds was a nice touch. The end was pretty cool, I liked it lol.
good game, though I have to agree with densch.. also, I think you need to do some rebalancing.. the most expensive weapon is not all that good compared to the second to last weapon... if you are going to ask people to spend more money on a weapon it should not be weaker than the previous. yes I understand it has lots of ammo and shoots faster but the overall dps is crap compared to the sniper... beyond that I think its great although repetitive at the end.
great work with the food issue! thank you! Hunger still goes down rather quickly, but it is easier to manage now. Another issue I have noted is the pause button does not pause anything. Beyond that it's nice to see some progress being made. Looking forward to seeing more.
Truly a great start. Thus far the biggest issue is food. If there were a death mechanic at this stage no one would be able to get anywhere. the rarity of carrot seeds makes it so you have to dig and gather berries CONSTANTLY. May not be a bad thing if there were more ways of getting food, but when that is all there is you are spending all your time hunting for seeds waiting for them to grow and hoping you got a lot of berry bush spawns. there needs to be much more done with the food issue well before you consider any kind of death/loss mechanic. still a great start though keep up the good work!
+1 because it functions, +3 because I love TBBT and you made a game based on RPSLS which was an idea I had a while back but don't have the skills to do LOL congrats and ty
some of the algorithms seem to be off... according to the game my chopping speed is 2.1/s yet I am only auto chopping at a rate of 1 every 5 seconds... tree fell time seems to be about right, just not sure if things are mislabeled or if the algorithms in the coding itself are off. just thought I would try and point that out.
The current labeling is a bit misleading I think; however, when workers are added it should be much clearer. The chopping speed is how many times per second the chopping power is used to damage the tree whereas the time to start automation is just a fixed 5 seconds of inactivity currently. Automation was added as a temporary means of idling until workers are in the game (as workers will be the replacement for automation); this is why I haven't made UI display or upgrades for automation. Thanks for pointing it out either way, it is good to make sure I don't mess something up and to make sure that everything is not confusing or misleading for players.
thanks for paying attention lol, nice to see.. as a suggestion for later on the forests, perhaps setting something up for the player to manage the amount of trees, instead of just chopping, make a planting button with a timer for growth of x amount of trees based on lvl? not sure how that would fit in with the rest of what you have planned for the game. just an idea.
That's a good idea. I plan to have resources being re-stocked by mages who will basically do the equivalent of planting trees (in a magical way :D), so it should turn out in a similar way. Thanks for the suggestions and feedback, keep them coming :)
looks to have potential.. and realizing this is just a prototype, here are some thoughts.. for one.. not much to do.. you chop trees.. sell them.. upgrade your forest to gain a few trees until you run out of trees then you are done.. nothing else you can really do at that point other than to try and play the market... very slowly... and with as quickly as the prices change.. the second you see the price by the time you can react it changes again so the potential of losing everything is way to high. beyond that.. I can see how this has a ton of potential.. and look forward to seeing what lies in store.
Thanks for the feedback! So far I have only gotten a few hours of dev time in but I will be updating very soon with more for players to do.
Upgrading the forest increases tree capacity but it was never intended for them to run out. I will submit an update to prevent trees running out (for now) in a couple of minutes. Players are meant to be able to re-stock the trees for a small fee, which I will make a priority to have implemented (I will try to have it updated in the next few hours).
The price changes are based on your Barter Skills (which increase per market level); the current prices shown are the base value.
Hovering over the Buy button or the Sell button shows the cost/sell value with your Bartering Skills taken into account.
I haven't had time to add in tooltips yet but I will update the UI and instructions to be clearer there, thanks for pointing that out :)
Thanks for playing!
Overall I enjoyed the game. It had great atmosphere. However, it was not all that scary. The "jump scares" did not even phase me. Why? The wrong kind of build up. the game went into a type of cut-scene that completely pulled me out of the tension from the atmosphere. This is one of my biggest complaints about the horror genre. Games used to scare the piss out of me until thing started to become more about graphics and cut-scenes. Instead of the player being fully immersed in the atmosphere and the task at hand when BOOM something horrific happens as you are going about your business, now the player is pulled out of everything to see a cut-scene. Over all good game, just not as much a horror game as an atmospheric game. 4/5
