I have a hammer, there's a fresh wall, I better break it open and see what's behind it. But wait, I don't want to make a mess. Seriously? In this house, with everything you've seen so far, _this_ is what you're worrying about?!
If it's a permadeath game, please be kind enough to tell me in the tutorial. The screen that popped up when leaving a floor kinda implied (to me) that I would be restarting at the beginning of the floor. I found out I was wrong after being interrupted by RL, not hitting pause and dying. Really frustrating.
I really like the game but servers that have been annoyingly slow at best, downright crawling at worst, pretty much constantly for the last two weeks (at least) take all the fun out of it.
Also, why on earth, do I have to aim the shield gun when the level is already running? That's insanely stupid. Just as annoying as not showing me the hotkey for each tower in between levels. How am I supposed to know which one is assigned which number? Ah yes, I can figure that out while the enemies are already swarming and I am busy aiming my shield.
I keep getting old setups from campaigns I abandoned when I restart a level. It is really annoying. I went wrong there, I want to try something different. So, pleeeeease, let me.
Are there _any_ rules to what these giant spike balls in World 8 are doing? Sursprisingly enough, things that annoy the hell out of the player to not yet make for a fun game.
Paraphrase: "The red candle could be useful for the pentagram in the attic." Ah, yes. So I suppose I'll find a pentagram once I get the ladder to actually go up there... Anticlimactic.
Doing the medium badge would be considerable more fun if there were any 3-squad-fights around. I've been playing for quite a while now and have encountered only one of these. It's starting to be ridiculous.
Also, that last level is a clear example of "You think you're so clever, figuring out all of those levels. Well, I can design levels you'll hate any time. That'll show you."
This game has a very strange difficulty curve. You get from being pretty mediocre to being unstoppable within just one or two (not even very expensive) upgrades.
I really wish I could play all of the game, but as the controls are quite flaky I won't risk the frustration in later levels. (Sometimes they just keep running, whatever I do...)
