I'd love to be able to use that little top left area that shows all the things you can buy to actually buy stuff. Having to scroll through that tiny list is an absolute pain, and I've only unlocked 5 things so far. I hate to think what 12 will be like.
Getting into the later stages of the game, my main complaint is that advancement is dictated 100% by getting better equipment which you have no real control over. Any way to have more control over advancement would be a great addition to the game.
Took me to act 2 to figure out how to spend those coins. Also, why is the switch from one screen to the other button capslock and not shift like 99.9% of other games?
Some purchasable upgrades would be nice: "Herb cultivator: 2x on all herb growth." "Excellent Elixers: 2x sale price on elixers" so on and so forth. Might require some changes to keep somewhat balanced with the game, but I think it'd make it far more interesting.
Love the concept. The walls seem to not have the best hit detection, as I feel like I get caught on them constantly, or my bullets hit just outside them, but otherwise nicely done.
I'd really like a quality setting that is like the normal setting, but without the particles from elemental shots. They drain so many computer resources, and just make the game look more confusing, but not having the shadows looks weird.
The game actually looks surprising pretty when you get a nice mix of colors from skipping levels. Might be nice to see multiple colors regularly in waves to get that effect.
I really enjoy the game, and it has come a long way since it first appeared on Kongregate. Still seem to be some things that need balancing out, but it is very enjoyable now. I'm somewhat sad that earth and air became fairly useless. There is virtually no point in knocking back or stunning the normal enemies, and bosses are immune to it now. O f course, them not being immune to it was kind of overpowered. Work on that, and work on the defensive skill tree, and I think it'll be a really great game.
It'd be nice to have some feedback from the game on how much things like interest are making us, and how many times the 'increase skill' thing has actually activated. Right now it is hard to tell how much of an investment is really worthwhile.
Missile speed I don't really see any purpose to either. The tower stops attacking something if it has fired enough shots to kill it already, and making it die a fraction of a second sooner (not faster, just sooner) doesn't really impact anything. Vanderwall gave some good suggestions one ways to help make some of these useful. I suggest looking at some other tower defense games like Cursed Treasure, Gem TD, and Desktop TD for ideas on enemy types that could make the skills useful. High armor enemies that still get hurt by fire, grouped enemies in larger numbers that are vulnerable to bouncing, high speed enemies that can potentially dodge the slower tower shots, ranged enemies that do small amounts of damage over time from a range. You need to look at each skill offered, and figure out what sort of situation that would actually be useful for, and create that situation.
I like the concept of the game, but the execution in the form of the actual upgrades leave a lot to be desired. I'm still fairly early on in the game, but I can already see that most of the upgrades are fairly useless compared to simply increasing raw DPS. Bounce for example can't be utilized with any real consistency due to the enemies not grouping up very much. If some of the enemy types purposefully grouped up, it could be handy at higher levels, but right now even a 50% chance of bouncing still isn't good because there is about a 90% chance that nothing else will be in range for the bounce. Fire's damage meanwhile takes too long to benefit. With the exception of bosses, if you're taking more than a second killing something, you've likely already lost. Which brings me to defenses. Simply put, if you ever take more than 1 hit in a round, you've likely already lost, and all the defenses in the world isn't really going to help, except maybe drawing things out a wave or two.
Ahhh you probably had the valentine's day bonus. Sorry, that was an edge case so I don't think it will get added. It's just going off the normal game's default diamond amount : / Sorry! At least there are new girls being added to ave more diamonds?
I don't entirely understand how power and max lift are different, since being below max lift increases power and being above it decreases it, it just seems like another multiplier, but I don't know how much stock to put in it.
That's a good idea. I'll add that.
