Great game but some improvements that could be made in my experience are:
1. Gain some energy back automatically at half time. Using an NRG drink is not really an option, especially as they go up in price every time your star rating goes up.
2. Make NRG drinks cheaper! Or at least don't have them go up so much at each level up. Why would a drink cost as much as a house?!
3. Make it easier to negotiate a new contract. At one point I had raised my star rating up twice and had max boss opinion, but still he wouldn't negotiate.
4. Opposition players seem to have an invisible wall above their heads that allows them to catch the ball as it goes over them, even though it appears to be too high.
5. Even if I perform well in a game, make all passes, intercept all balls, if my team loses I get a poor rating and I usually get a negative rating from boss, fans and team. This is a bit frustrating if you play well but your team concedes loads of goals and loses the game!
@cashroberts, Yes the point of upgrades is to make yourself better but the point of a handicap is to make you weaker. Also the star upgrades are only disabled in the Heroic and Iron challenges, and there is a good reason for that. You're meant to beat those levels using strategy not just by blowing everything away with over-powered towers. I thought this was one of the best and most outstanding aspects of the game compared to most other Tower Defence games.
For those losing save files, make sure it's not another browser that you are using. All your browsers will share the save files therefore all can potentially delete them. e.g. if you use Chrome to play this game then open Firefox to do something else, Firefox will delete the save file if it's settings are adjusted to do so.
@Arja. You need to do a couple of things to win Iron Challenge on Icewind pass:
First I would upgrade the Wizard tower as soon as you can. You want to be able to kill the Gargoyles quickly.
When the Gargoyles come, so will Wulfs forcing your wizard tower to attack the Wulfs instead of the Gargoyles. Use your re-enforcements and make sure you build a Barracks on one of the two available positions at the top of the screen to stop the Wulfs getting through. Eventually, have Barbarian Barracks just to the left of the main Junction; their throwing axes will pick off any straggling Gargoyles that get through.
The rest of this level is pretty straight forward. Surround the main junction with three Dwarven Towers and have one or two sets of soldiers in the middle. Depending on how many perks you have the centre of the junction will soon become no-man's land and nothing will get through.
