Some running commentary I had while playing...
[Game loads] Nice, they finally made Contra for Kongregate :D!
When our hero says that there is no shelter in sight so he'd better stay put cus no where else is better...ANYWHERE ELSE IS BETTER THAN HERE :D.
Personally, I don't get it. I mean, the bombs, I get. I'm sure that there are plenty of people looking to bomb us (I'm American), but who is sending the medkits/pills/gaming systems and why won't they just rescue us :O :D?!?!
Two words I hate to see while dodging bombs: Difficulty Up :D!
Heh, cute game, but I'm so confused :D. The backstory and the "ending" could use a little more tying together...I guess it's more "visual" than "novel" :D.... But still cute :D.
This is a game. Simple, yet thought-provoking. Easy-to-learn, but with lots of game time.
Just one thing: That font :D! I can barely read it at times :D.
Also, when upgrading zero writes, perhaps the speed of their activation could increase, too. If you think giving too many zero writes is unfair, perhaps you could set their size to be slowly increased as it is upgraded, similar to the magnetism option.
Some requested features:
1) A countdown of enemies left so I know how to ration my zero writes.
2) A shield upgrade option. I have a lot of bits left. Or did you think that this game would be too easy with unlimited lives and a shield? Perhaps if there is a shield, you could limit our lives and put in a purchase extra lives option?
3) More zero writes -- perhaps at least 5?
4) Perhaps a preview of upcoming enemies so I know what my strategy could be?

awesome game. great concept, great design. would love to see some more stats, such as points lost, and ratio of zilches to wins so I can analyze my strategies :). hint: why score 200 when u can roll five dice again :)?
