Wow..I have never seen a WORSE lag in a game in all my life. From the very FIRST enemy of the game if I held down A or D to move, afer I stopped pressing it, it would still run forward like 5-6 steps, right into an enemy. Then my computers fan started sounding like a jet engine and my task manager said my browser was suddenly using 72% of CPU and a GB of RAM. And again...all for a game I JUST started.
Really don't like the trend of tower defense games turning cartoony. If you want to make a game for kids, then make a game for ids. Don't turn a beloved existing game into one.
It is a better than average defense game, but the ninja bosses add too much luck to the game. With some of the levels being so short, it will get a gem before the 5 second invisibility time is up, so you have to be really good at the meteors, or get lucky with a freeze shot. IT also means you pretty much have to sell every non-crypt tower at the start of the level. The last thing you want is for another tower to get that first shot in to a Ninja boss and turn it invisible before the crypt can freeze it. For the last couple of levels, you even have to make sure that there is no single crypt at the start. Much better to let the ninja get closer to the gems, but get hit with a barrage of crypt shots each of which could freeze it long enough to take it out with meteors more easily.
The game is OK...but the upgrade tree is ridiculous. There is no visual difference in selected upgrades and still available ones. So you basically have to just remember every upgrade you got before. OR keep guessing later on
Maybe I am missing something, but can you not use more than 4 enhancement blocks per tower? If so,m the game probably should tell players that. At first, I thought I couldn't just use more tan 4 rocket blocks. But then I realized that if I started with 4 rocket blocks, my renew ability was wasted. So even the passive blocks are wasted. I don't know about the developer, but my keyboard goes all the way up to 9 plus the 0. So I am able to do ten keyboard shortcuts. So if you want to arbitrarily limit it to 4, it should be noted somewhere.
If you move too far in any direction, the screen stops scrolling and you can keep going. Not far, but enough that you disappear. s that a bug, or just a REALLY stupid decision on the game designers part?
Seems based on luck 100%. Running does nothing but delay your death. You can't seem to get away. Which makes it pointless. And the death is not even a good jump scare.
I think it is possible that this game has the WORST control scheme ever in the history of video games. Totally unnecessary use of multiple button requirements, and forcing two hands when also not necessary. Wow.
I hate to write such a scathing review, but this game deserves it. Every single design decision made for this game was 100% wrong. Tiny enemy spirtes? Wrong decision. Random upgrade paths? Wrong decision. (I went through a game where I didn't get the opportunity to upgrade my weapons at all, all the way to the first boss, meaning I may as well been farting on it.) The in-level upgrade system of having to hover over something? Wrong decision. Making you go back a level if you die, but not giving you a full health bar. Wong decision. (Actually, simply not restoring health after each level is a wrong decision.) NOT letting you go back a level if you die on a Boss level, meaning if you reach that level with very little health, you may as well reset your game and start over from the start. Wrong decision. Not showing the Boss health bar? Wrong decision.
I live games like this. This was the worst one I have ever seen. It brings down the quality of Kongregate just for being on this site.
There isn't much more than needs to be said. A great game with just some minor flaws. To answer a question another commenter asked about why starting position if important, it is because while you can do what you say, and position them on the second move, that means you are wasting that second move that could otherwise be an offensive move. Plus, it just doesn't make sense from a logical standpoint. That is now how you would start out if you were getting ready to defend yourself against zombies.
