Minor bug report: If you accidentally eat 2 things at once when your evolution countdown is at 1, you will skip 0 and go straight to -1, unable to evolve and have to restart the level. Otherwise lots of fun for a short game!
While Dregg *has* died and gone to hell, (1) it took an actual demon god to kill him and (2) it didn't stick anyway. And, unlike the other resurrection in the series, Dregg's did not involve any help from his protege the *literal angel.*
Love it, love it, love it! Adorable and clever. The controls and puzzle elements are well-explained or simply intuitive, and the puzzles are entertaining brainteasers instead of fiddly reflex-tests. A++
General stuff so far:
Objects (cat, tea(pot), moon, duck, etc.) Can be pluralized, summons three or four.
Abstract (circle, triangle, line, etc.) Also can be pluralized.
Locations (Red, green, blue, river, grass, tree, beach, bed, etc.) Change background.
Particle effects (heart, snow, etc.)
Basic commands (fast, slow, in, out, big, small, reset, etc.)
Filters (mirror, stars, ghost, etc.) Can be removed by typing "normal"
Position (wall, floor, spin, bounce, etc.)
Other oddities: "box," "music," "infinity"
Favorite trick: first, identify a bunch of locations. (Tree, flower, grass, beach, sky, river, and space work for me.) Go to each location in turn and type "shiny" once or twice.
You now have a bunch of cubes flying around reflecting various environments! I like to turn on "spin" and "mirror" and just watch them go.
Tried for a true neutral ending; it seems that isn't possible, because the good ending is the only one where you can affect your karma after the last checkpoint. When you try for true neutral, the good ending plays out and you end up with a small net good karma.
I like it! I agree that the current inventory setup is cumbersome. In the next episode, I would like to see the ability to talk to Tink as a hint system as well as flavor text.
Great mechanics, nice difficulty, and fun puzzles. A little too much effort went into graphics over story, though. I'd like to have a real ending, even if it's just an illustration with a short caption, rather than finishing the last puzzle and just quitting to scene selection. 4/5
@Octavian: I thought that too, but it's still in your hand. It's just too small to see behind your cursor. Mouse over the clock until your pointer turns into a hand, and you can still place the piece.
Definitely in my top 20 favorites, top 10 if I count series as one place. Beautiful graphics, just enough story to give it life, challenging puzzles without requiring pixel-perfect jump timing, and even secrets to be found.
Great suggestions! Thanks for the excellent feedback! :D
