The weapon that either 1hit KOs regulars, or does 10% damage on bosses is a bit overpowered. I just tank on dragons while hitting, hoping for those 10% = ~300k damage hits.
It's pretty tough. It'd be better if you organized each level separately, and you would let people "retry" levels. Time limit would still be the same, but the character would be, of course, in a different spot. Easy mode: x0.1 score, but x2 time limit, medium mode x0.3 score, but x1.5 time limit, and current mode is now hard mode.
Your total score would be cumulative over all levels.
Hopefully you guys can figure out the purple and yellow magnets, but I think the blue is the most difficult, so I'll explain it.
In your minds eye, when you use the blue magnet, you need to imagine two lines. One line goes from the blue magnet to the black box. One line goes from the black box in the exact direction it is moving. Next, look at the angle formed between the lines. If it is acute = less than 90, then the black box will curve towards the blue magnet as it goes around, spiraling inward. If it is right = 90, then the black box will move in a circle around the blue magnet. If it is obtuse = greater than 90, the black box will spiral outwards from the blue magnet.
Hope that helps you guys to not rely on luck. It is a bit tough to get used to.
The last 3 levels are toughest (57, 58, 59). But you can actually beat level 57 really quickly if you know how. I'd say difficulty-wise, it goes ("easiest") 58, 57, 59 (hardest)
And its trial-and-error if you don't realize what's going on. Sure, you could solve a 500 piece puzzle by taking one piece, trying all 499 others ones until you get a match, and repeating. Not exactly the best way to do it, but you can't really complain "It takes so long to do this puzzle by trial and error..." when it isn't really supposed to be done that way.
Trial-and-error to discover what exactly the blue, purple, and yellow "magnets" do. Once you know what they do, you need to figure out how to use them to beat the level.
Or you could just try to memorize the right sequence of clicks.
If you are dying second in, then you need to change your strategy...
And you don't get credit for replaying a mission because there are enough missions so that you can purchase all the upgrades by simply completing more regular missions.
Unit management is terrible. I'll have a tower next to a depo, tower wants 3 more guys, depo has 0 guys to distribute, tower has no ammo, depo has tons of ammo, all of the humans prefer to sit in the tower with no ammo than to fill it up.
Survivors are dumb. Very dumb.
Gets repetitive? Of course. But spending 2 hours and not getting past level 10? You just aren't good at this game. Of course if you just shoot the guy and don't do anything, you're going to level slowly. Of course if you don't know when to use the hits, you're going to level slowly.
Here is how to hit the geek, for optimal (afaik): Use about half your hits on him while he is high in the air, and for most other hits, try to use them right before he hits the ground. This way, he is going at high speed, and he goes at a high speed for a long time.
This technique is, I think, the biggest reason why you only get 1 token in the challenge game that is like burrito bison.
Also, make sure to complete the challenges completely, or at least get the silver medal.
And, of course, max-out the +money, +XP skill first.
@Fallen, you don't need 'all the weapons' just the good ones. Go with antimatter bombs, not just because they do big damage, but if you are in a tight spot, you can put one out and it'll kill the bullets for a few seconds. The weapons I use are 2 flak, 2 rockets, all of them have a splitter, rockets have acid, flak have the 'weaken'. And its good that you have the tank ship. The ship equips I used are shield + warp core. Though if you just care about winning, I'd recommend 2 shields.
