Tired of answering this in chat - You use master points on the mastery tree (click star icon in top). "Extreme" does just what it says, makes things harder and gives an extra mastery point if the world level is at least 15 AND 50% of the max world level you can roll.
Also, yeah, that left-box is kinda maddening and counter to what this kind of game is. Thieves steal quite a lot of your money, all the damn time -- you can get it back, which is actually more of a problem, a small amount to get you to spend large sums, Or a large amount to grab your attention, not both. Fires cost based on your money, so if you don't spend it frequently, then putting out the fire costs more than you could possibly earn in the lost time -- and then there's the +100, 200, or even 300% to mining a materia, or +50, or up to 200% (that I saw) to selling a specific gear. . . . again, constant demands on your attention, for a clicker. That just seems like bad design. Yes, this -could- be done well, but a three-tier click-fest is not sufficiently deep to warrant such attention.
But again, a decent way to spend 2 hours or thereabouts.
The game ain't bad, but it kinda fails in that it is a clicker, without much in the way of entertainment for activity. There is auto-everything, but it functions badly on its own, works great as a boost to your clicking. But, the game basically requiring you to actively click the whole time to actually play means that you more or less have to burn out on it.

Not a bad way to spend about 2 hours. The game lacks staying power, 3 groups, mix and match, quests requiring specific, or semi-specific matches. there's also a constant ticker that swaps between random effects, encouraging swords a LOT for me, and weighing towards a specific resource as well (stone when it was my second best, wood when that was) . . . I found that it just took too long to do things by level 20, and am giving up at 29 due to aformentioned, bored now.
Lovely -- also, radar, move left, abstract for the 5m points, had it very early on, and then I hit a red cause my combo was over 200 heh heh but done is done.,
I am becoming addicted to these idle games as I was the various city-state war builders before facebook and freemium and, ye gods, phones. . . just destroyed that type of game., bet the same things will ruin these actually.
