it's really bad form to use int main() instead of the proper int main( int argc, const char* argv[] ). especially new C++ proggers should use that to cement the way to get command line args in their memory.
The way the flash is made also sucks. Next button does nothing and the code window is WAY too small
well, the air duct thing really got "tendious and not fun", should've been removed. to all the people being stuck, there's a link to a walktrough right in the game
soo.. am I supposed to believe that all the henchmen cards and all the thief cards the pc gets are just because of bad luck? bullshit. I say the computer is a cheating bastard
OK, Y was put in as an alias to Z. Therefore, one of the seldom games that use ZXC where the dev was smart enough to realise there are qwertz keyboards. My bad. Upgraded the rating.
oh, by the way, the computer cheats. one of my creatures was just destroyed by a fire bolt. a fire bolt costs 3 fire points. the enemy was not of fire type, had not a single fire pillar and 0 fire points.
How about having to pay 200 spores to coop and get them back afterwards, but only if you do not just disconnect?
What also got on my nerves is the money grabbing. Everything costs way too many spores, but that would still be okay. But having items that you can't pay in spores is not. I wouldn't care about clothing, but I do care about weapons and not being able to buy any tier 2 weapons with spores is just lame. I mean, the only way to get brass is by completing the two missions that can only be done once a day and require more than a hour of work for just 7 brass. Because most stuff costs hundrets of brass, you have to play months with an hour per day just to be able to afford a single item. The only other way is to buy brass with real-life money - as an open source developer myself I find that quite weak. If there's another way to get brass, please message me.
So, all in all, this game would be great if it weren't for the lousy coop and the money grabbing. Too bad.
I have very mixed feelings about this game.. The jump-and-run mechanics are great, in fact they're better than in any other flash game I played yet. The singleplayer makes fun, even if it sucks to have to go throught the same areas 40 times.
But then there's the coop. Only two levels to choose from is a bit boring, especially since they're basically the same. How about some "hold the position" type where hordes of mimics attack? Also, it's laggy as hell. I don't know if that's a limitation of flash, but jump'n'runs should never lag in network play, not even if one party has a 56k modem. I mean, the data that has to be transmitted (current location, current action, damage to enemies) can't be that big. Also, I had it various times that the partner just disconnected in the middle or just left the pc (stand there without doing anything). Sure, that's not the games fault, but such stuff should be discuraged by loss of points.
