The only thing I can't figure out is how the production of Joules is calculated. I understand how Watts work, but no idea how to produce more "currency".
I think there's something I don't quite get. I'm at a stage where after a couple of restarts I get stuck always at the same point. When I need my first Supplies Factory, my economy can never really produce enough coin to build one, and so I end up restarting over and over, without ever producing more than 10M coin a day.
Interesting... I would recommend posing this problem to the chat. There are some pro players there that know the game arguably better than I. They have certainly spend more time building in-game than I have, that's for sure. However, off the cuff, I would focus on building boosters and boosts in general. This game is all about positioning and min-maxing the way you like to accomplish the goal you are striving for.
Does adding more people to a building make it produce faster? Or is it only to unlock new production features? 'Cause I really can't tell if the bars move faster when I add 5 or 10 dudes.
@raenefIX that is how it was in the original game. Don't try to find logic behind most of the things, it was an MMO like WoW, but older, some things just were like that "because reasons". Most of the equipment monsters dropped where sold to other players, not NPC shops, that's why no one cared about the half-price for monster drops. Also, cards are worth 10z according to the shop, but some of them sold for like 10M (yes, million) zeny or more to other players.
@raenefIX yes, that is how the original RO worked. Opposing stats are exclusive at the moment of creating a Character. You can spend points on whatever you want once you level though.
Hey, I like the progress so far :) I think you should aim to implement the stat increase that comes from the Job level and the passive Skills for all classes at the same time first. That way, everyone can start their builds, then by introducing the active Skills and the more complex stuff, the Characters can develop further, but right now, as brenigan said, if we started to create a specific build that wasn't a swordie, then we have to wait a lot :(
Also, concentration potions and the rest could be a simple item to implement that could help to grind faster =]
Cheers, keep up the good work!
@Tucydydes Cancel all current quests, then start new ones. Seems if you had quests pending prior to the update, they get bugged out.
@vorest No, Sword Mastery only affects 1-handed swords and daggers. Two handed is useful for a AGI Knight build that uses 2 handed-swords.
For something done in RPG/Game Maker as a quick, fun game with a quirky "fighting mechanic", it's actually pretty good! It was a good laugh and the debates are a lot of fun!
Don't be scared to make it a bit harder next time, the game is kinda too forgiving even when it lets you save before each fight.
I'll give you 5/5, keep 'em coming!
I'm sorry, but as a fellow game designer I find very troubling the enemy design patterns.
One moment you're cruising without much trouble, and just out of the blue enemies start one-shoting you, or placing 300 poison damage on one roll.
The change is too sudden, without giving the player time to pursue a strategy, it ends up being just "getting lucky when enemies roll a 1 after building a 300 dmg attack".
The game is really unforgiving and extremely expensive (every cost is designed with a pay-to-win pattern). Capturing monsters becomes a really boring and hard task quickly and it's really boring to re-do the same quests over and over and over...
It's a really great concept, ruined by a pay-to-win/pay-to-play policy.
So, my taxes are on 17 silver. I click collect and I get 16.
They are 2, I get 1.
You are stealing Silver from me D:
Also, even though I get the whole "pay to play" mechanic, the times on this game are PAINFUL.
