I've got to admire that ninja's fortitude; he's taken two cannonballs directly to the head, and all he's done about it is danced a bit.
Really enjoying the minimalistic, slightly cartoony graphics style. It doesn't distract from the gameplay, but it creates nice atmosphere. Besides, there's just something deeply satisfying about wobbly cartoon boats.
I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what's considered a "putt." Would that be how far you can make the ball fly without hitting any other object before it lands again on the same planet? I understand that not all hits are "putts" but I'm not quite clear on the other part.
In all honesty, while haiku does have a fine tradition, it's important to be able not to take a casual haiku-inspired gave like this too seriously. Some suggestions for improving the rules: give us more concrete goals and vary them more. I like "Don't use the letter 'G'," but "Use as many 'G's as possible" is too vague. "Use at least 15 'G's." "Use the word 'paper' in line 1 and 'thrifty' in line 3." "Use at least 3 names of animals." I'm sure you can think of some more rules, too.
Small gripe: it doesn't resize properly to fit a small screen, so I'm constantly trying to guess if there's anything on the ceiling that might kill me, or having to find a safe spot to stand while I scroll up for it.
I don't usually go for stacking/tipping puzzles, but I enjoyed the music and art so much that I played it for quite a while. The night music was a little drum heavy on my speakers, but otherwise I really enjoyed it. Thank you!
The teleporter was easy enough to work out, but what is this flashy thing in Long Live The King, eh? Decoration? A strengthener? A weakener? Should I be guarding it? Should I be running away from it screaming? An in-game encyclopedia would be helpful.
I think the gong that plays when you hit a statue evokes a Chinese feel, which reminds me of the struggle between Confucianism--lots of ritual to keep society in order, but most of it strict and empty--and Taoism--enjoying chaos, but lacking structure. I tend towards chaos, myself, but I can appreciate a little structure. Very enjoyable, even if the game does insist that it's changed my biological sex. :P
I'm enjoying this game, but it runs extremely slowly for me, even with a finger cramping on the mouse, holding down the speed-up button. I think a low-quality option would help with that -- or at least a 3x speed option. And, of course, as all the other posters have pointed out, that really should be a "toggle 2x" button, not something you want to hold only for short bursts.
Thanks for your hard work on the game.
