OMG!!! I seriously beat this freaking game up til level 7 on hard mode yesterday, and it didn't save, but wanting the badges, I came back and tried AGAIN, almost finishing level 10 on easy this time, and it crashed and DIDN'T SAVE AGAIN!! 1/5, if you're going to make a game this long, make a save feature that works.

holy cow, I spent forEVER beating up til level 7 on hard, and I get back on, and nothing has been saved. Honestly, that's a feature that needs to be fixed quickly, I can't think of much that would be more frustrating.

I thought it was good as a beta. Obviously there's stuff to work on, but that's why it says BETA right on the label! Couple of little modifications I might recommend... I thought it was a bit easy... you could probably make it more challenging just by scaling the enemy graphics down a bit... easy solution. Anyway, I like the creativity... it's a good modification of the shootorial. To everyone who's flaming this... come on people, seriously, give constructive feedback, that's why anyone puts demos out in the first place!

one bug you may already be aware of (I haven't read through all the comments), you can jump from midair, as long as you walked off a ledge, and didn't jump(if that makes sense)... I would guess that it's just the logic "if jumping=true, don't jump" that just needs to be changed to something like, "if yspeed 0, don't jump" You can see I'm not a programmer yet, just tryin to help out by pointing in the right direction :) seriously, great game though!

I thought it was a great game. Great concept, great execution. The fact that it's your first game is impressive. Congratulations! I am trying to get into game programming, and I don't even begin to understand platform game programming yet... you started with a hard concept, and did very well :)

ah, nevermind... I was saving the file as "Ship.as" instead of just "Ship". That was my problem. Heh, just looking through others' old posts fixed my problem. Thanks everyone, I'll try to look at that before I ask next time :)

I'm getting an error "The class or interface 'Ship' could not be loaded." I'm pretty sure it's because I'm not saving the "ship.as" file in the right place, but I am saving it where I keep all of my flash files... any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? (I'm using CS4, but using the actionscript 2.0 in CS4)
