You can get inside the pirate ship without the pencil. If you jump on the spring, slide up the wall and do a far jump you can jump over the big pile of guys and open the door with them still there and no pencil.
This might be a stupid question but how do you kill the pirates? I jumped on their heads for 5 minutes and nothing happened. I also wasn't taking damage when I got hit.
Bug: I clicked to change zone and before I got there I clicked the backpack to check something. I went to a new room but it was black and I couldn't move. Everything was frozen.
If you are only doing this game for the easy badge to finish the quest wait till the first scroll that gets you to the store. Sell all the items you have and if you don't have enough sell what your characters are wearing. This game is not for everyone, so as opposed to hating on the game just get the badge and quit. I know I don't particularly enjoy it but I didn't think to sell equipped gear and now I am stuck looking for another scroll.
Clue says the lover is addicted to pain killers. Clue says the murderer is addicted to pain killers. Accuse the lover of being the murder. Nope it was the thief. WTF?
There are really only two different ending. There is one for going left on the surface and one for going right. If you go to the sub-basement you don't really get an ending, just a fact about the story.
It would be cool if you could have done something to get an alternative ending. I tried shooting all the yellow in the yellow circle in the bottom world thinking it would do something but no luck.
