@cyber6 - if you haven't noticed yet, jayisgames.com (reviewers) and/or CasualCollective (developers) claim TSG is a mix of Harvest: Massive Encounter and Vector TD. Not a ripoff, just same genre with new features.
Just completed the career, both endings. It's awesome! I still think both endings leave the player with a cliff-hanger, so a sequel should be appropriate...
Could the screen size issues some players are experiencing have something to do with the browser they are using? For example, IE6 could fail to render Kongregate properly. :-/
Oh sorry, my comment below was intended for TSG:Missions. (There are no superships in this game, and the last mission hint could have nothing to do with this game.) Sorry for causing confusion.
babylon66 and cargo_kid, here are two strategy methods that work for me. (Don't blame me please if they don't work for you. Also, dear pros and experts, don't swear at me if you think I am wrong with something here; I'm just trying to help.)
Hint 1: Two or three fully upgraded pulsers can take out almost everything, except motherships and superships.
Hint 2: On the last mission, and also other mining missions, build only two or three miners, and later deconstruct them when they have mined everything they can. Build four or so pulsers, you can upgrade them, and two missile launchers, upgrade them to level two when you feel it's needed.
Here's an easy way of getting money if you play as human (I have 177 kills ATM and it works now, maybe later it won't): go to the very southwest human base and look for missions, you'll find one assassination which gives slightly more than 5k, it will always be very easy but rewarding as you see (5k is pretty good). Repeat as much as you wish.
