While I enjoy this follow up, I think the most disappointing is not being able to see what other people have done for a given level after you complete it. The funnest part of Fantastic Contraption for me, was seeing the insanity that other people create.
Feels like the difficult ramps up way, way too quick. Level 1 was super easy, level 2 was easy, level 3 was hard, and level 4 is bloody hard. It also feels like enemies come too quickly. There's no real break in the waves, they just amass super fast and the turrets can't keep up with the number of enemies. Maybe I'm missing something, but it also seems like the specific towers do no damage at all to specific units.
Gave up after the 3rd level. By that point, the horizontal artifacting was so terrible, the "game" (if you can call a crappy ad a game) became unplayable. Granted, playing the first level, I just played the entire "game".
Otherwise good game, completely ruined by the "1 shot, you die" level. Sorry, but in a game of mostly random luck when it comes to shots, there is no reason beyond trying to frustrate people to make a level where the enemy kills everything in 1 hit. Physics could use some work too. In the 2 hills level, my tanks just kept falling over and getting stuck in their sides.
Great idea but seriously lacking some very important aspects:
1) Need to be able to move camera to see the track.
2) Simple edit/move parts. Its annoying as hell if I want to make a small change that I have to delete and redo those parts all over again instead of just sliding the piece.
3) A "batch" option for engines would be nice. If I want all 4 jet engines to go at once, it would be nice if I could select all 4 and give them all the same controls. Instead of 1 at a time.
Didn't realize redoing levels gave you skill points again. Makes things a little bit easier but more repetitive. Also, it would be nice if the health taken by enemies was static, and not based on their HP.
Needs a new game button. Needs a skill reset. Difficulty needs to scale better, start of a level is freaking hard and is almost just luck to survive, then it becomes super easy. Damage buff tower seems like it adds nothing. Game seems impossible if you don't max out mercenary (I was doing great then I put a point into engineer before max mercenary, now I can't get any farther.)
Game is too easy for the most part. No save, seriously? You don't start out with nearly enough ammo after a continue, especially when you die on a boss. Chainsaw eats up 1000 ammo in mere seconds? Most of the guns are not needed. Very little variety, the difference between enemies is minimal, and the only like 4 maps makes it even more repetitive.
Fantastic game. My only complaint is the whole "another flash program is using sound, please close it" and you can't play at all until you do. Especially when that flash is just a youtube video that has ended.
