It's a shame the savefiles were lost, but an announcement was issued to send a private message to the developers - if you tell them how many EP you had, they can get you a save with that.
And as for @EmptySD: There has always been an option to export/import the save, but the format has changed from using a textbox to uploading/downloading a text file. I wanted to test if it's also compatible, but it wouldn't let me copy the text, so I'll just wait for the devs to respond.
